OBFF is engaged in the business of promoting, incubating and nurturing entrepreneurship and innovation across communities by creating inclusive platforms that enable individuals and/or start-ups/growing businesses to ideate, design and develop impactful solutions to societal challenges. The Foundation collaborates with schools, universities, research institutions, MSMEs, industry bodies, government departments and NGOs to foster science, technology and socio-economic development. Through incubation initiatives, innovation challenges, research collaborations, consultancy services, training programs, workshops, seminars and knowledge dissemination activities, OBFF works to build a robust ecosystem that transforms ideas into sustainable, scalable and socially meaningful enterprises across the country (the “Business”). 

1.2 This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) governs the manner in which OBFF collects, receives, generates, processes, stores, uses, discloses, transfers and retains information in connection with its objects, charitable initiatives, incubation and innovation programs, advisory/consultancy services, research initiatives, funding programs, partnerships, events, digital platforms, multimedia productions and all related institutional activities otherwise processes personal information and data of users, visitors, founders, partners, candidates, and any other individual interacting with Our Website in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and other applicable data protection laws in India.

1.3 This Policy applies to all individuals and entities interacting with OBFF, including but not limited to founders, applicants, donors, sponsors, collaborators, advisors, mentors, experts, institutional partners, participants, website visitors and other stakeholders (collectively, “Users”).

1.4 This Policy is governed by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011, and other applicable Indian laws and regulations.

1.5 By visiting or using Our Website or by submitting your information through any of Our online forms, You agree to the terms of this Policy and consent to the collection and Processing of your Personal Data as described herein. 3.INFORMATION WE COLLECT

In the course of its activities, OBFF may collect and process the following categories of information:

3.1 Personal Information: Information capable of identifying an individual, including but not limited to name, email address, telephone number, postal address, date of birth, gender (where voluntarily disclosed), professional designation, organizational affiliation, academic background, qualifications, work experience, resume or curriculum vitae, publications, portfolio links, areas of expertise, photographs and publicly available social media profiles. Where required for compliance, grant administration, contractual documentation or regulatory purposes, OBFF may collect government-issued identification details, tax identification numbers, statutory registration numbers or other legally required documentation.

3.2 Sponsor and Institutional Partner Information: Corporate registration details, authorized signatory information, tax registration numbers, billing addresses, bank account details, payment records, memoranda of understanding, sponsorship commitments, contractual documents and branding materials.

3.3 Multimedia and Event Information: Biographical details, audio recordings, video recordings, photographs, transcripts, speaking materials, participation records, consent forms and release declarations collected in connection with events, podcasts, interviews, webinars, workshops, campaigns and public engagements. Such materials may be edited, reproduced, published, archived and disseminated across digital platforms, social media, streaming platforms, press releases and publications consistent with applicable consent or agreements.

3.4 Publicly Available and Secondary Research Data: Academic publications, public records, industry reports and datasets lawfully obtained for research, reporting and knowledge dissemination purposes.

3.5 Automatically Collected Information: In general, You may browse Our Website without providing any PPI about Yourself. When You browse Our Website, certain information may be collected automatically for analytics and site performance, such as: 

i. IP address, browser type, device details, operating system, referring URL, domain names, access times and browsing behaviour. This information is used for the operations of the Business by OBFF to maintain the quality of the services given and for the periodic maintenance of the Website and to provide general statistics regarding use of the Website.

iii. In connection with founder submissions, incubation programs, innovation challenges, research initiatives, funding processes or partnership evaluations, OBFF may confidentially share relevant information, including business plans, pitch decks, project summaries and supporting materials, with mentors, evaluators, selection committees, investors, sponsors, institutional partners or funding agencies for assessment, collaboration or funding consideration purposes.

iv. OBFF may also publish or publicly disseminate selected information, including names, project descriptions, achievements, photographs, and recordings, in connection with showcasing program outcomes, events, research publications, reports, or media communications.

v. OBFF may engage trusted third-party service providers to support website hosting, cloud storage, data analytics, payment processing, communications, marketing, recruitment, event management, IT infrastructure or other operational functions. Such service providers shall be granted access only to the extent necessary to perform services on behalf of OBFF and shall be subject to appropriate confidentiality and data protection obligations.

vi. Multimedia content, research publications, event recordings, and public communications may be retained indefinitely for documentation, promotional, academic, or historical purposes unless withdrawal of consent or applicable law requires otherwise.

6.3 Upon expiry of the applicable retention period, or upon lawful request for deletion where permissible under applicable law, OBFF shall take reasonable steps to securely delete, anonymise, or de-identify the information, subject to any overriding legal or regulatory obligations requiring continued retention.

7.1 As per applicable law, You have the right to:

i. Request access to Your Personal Information: You have the right to request from Us, a summary of the Personal Information We process about You, including the Processing activities. We undertake with respect to such information. We will also provide any other relevant information related to Your Personal Data and its Processing as prescribed by law. You can make this request in the manner prescribed by the applicable regulations.

ii. Request correction or updating of inaccurate or incomplete data: You are responsible for providing updated and correct information about Yourself to Us. iv. Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India (upon its constitution).

8.MINOR’S PRIVACY

8.1 Our Website and the Business are not directed to individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under the age of 18. 12.2 OBFF may independently develop or already possess ideas similar or identical to those described in a Submission. Review of a Submission does not restrict OBFF from pursuing independent initiatives.

12.3 Unless expressly agreed in writing, OBFF shall not be bound by confidentiality obligations with respect to information that:

i. is publicly available,

ii. was already known to OBFF prior to disclosure,

iii. is independently developed without use of the Submission, or

iv. is required to be disclosed under applicable law.

12.4 Users warrant that they have lawful authority to submit materials and that such submission does not infringe third-party rights.

13.DISCLAIMER AND INDEMNITY
